The age of “access”
It is the age of “access” not of “ownership.” Companies are no longer seeking for having buildings but accessibility. We rent cars, offices, copy machines, dish-washers, and apartments.
A good example of the access is parking. Without parking lot, you cannot but turn around the bush. This is a sad story shared by Kaffca in his novel, “The Castle,” some decades ago. The architech “K” was invited to the castle, but he did not get the access to the castle. Nobody told him how to get in. Having turning around the castle a number of times, he died there in front of the gate. We Goldengaters are building parking lot now.
The access in the relm of human relationship is “communication.” A person with effective communication will be successful in all business areas today. A person with comfortable space in his/her heart will be successful in human relationship. “No space for us in your heart!” This may be a critical disappointment of people who have attempted all their best approaching to you. A good tool for communication is, to be sure, language. Today, it is said “English.” But language as a communication tool is not comopsed of words. For higher score, you may need more vocabularies. For better communication, however, you need better attitude. Language is essentially standing on the basis of attitude. If you are open with warm heart, they will help you for better communication. Better communication is possible only when each of you help for better understanding; communication is not spying information; it rather is revealing themselves.
Let us go back to the principle. We can know only what they reveal themselves to us. We can walk in the hearts who open their gates to us. This is true in the relationship with God. We know only what God reveals us. That is the Bible we have.
We don’t have to spend time and energy for purchasing; it is the age of access. Mountains, rivers, flowers, trees, all are beautiful as you see as what they are there. As soon as you attempt to own them registering with paperwork, you will lose the joy coming from their revelation. You are happy only when you enjoy the sharing. We are in the age of access. The cross is the ultimate access to Jesus. Jesus Christ is the ultimate access to God our Father. We are Christians living today, serving people as the access to Jesus Christ our Savior.
